The movie “Chainsaw Man” has been released in Indian theatres. I’ve seen it, brother. If I go overboard in this video and you think I’ve gone overboard, please understand. It’s because of my theatre experience, and I’m making this video fresh and fresh.
A Personal Disclaimer
Look, if you think it’s a bit overhyped or I’m overpraising, that’s fine. Now, I felt that way, so I’ll share my opinion. Because I was more excited for this Chen So Man movie than I was for Demon Slayer. More excited for Chen So Man than for Infinity Castle.
Expectations and Manga Connection I had read the Chen So Man manga. I knew what was going to happen. Watching all the footage shown in the teaser trailer made it seem like they were going to go crazy, and they did go crazy.
Must-Watch Season 1 First
First of all, let me be very clear: to see this movie, watching Chen So Man season one is an absolute must. 100% essential. There are only 12 episodes. You’ll finish them in 3-4 hours.
The Movie’s Beginning The movie begins. What is the main character doing? What kind of life is he living after season one ended? How is his mother’s mother manipulating him?
But what this quirky main character, Denji, always wanted was a good life. A good one. He’s living his life. Maybe he’s feeling that way. But then, to teach him the true value of life, another girl named Ray enters his life.
The Explosive Story Setup
And then the bombs that follow. Oh my God, brother. Look, first of all, the movie was released in India with an A certification, and no cuts were made. No one. They even put on a black open-air drape. So, if you’re going to see it, you’ll see things. Look into my eyes and you’ll know you’ll see things.
My IMAX Experience
I took an overnight train to another city to see this movie in IMAX, and I did. It was originally supposed to be released in theatres on the 26th, but in select cities, they had shows at 8:00 pm on the 25th. There’s no such premiere-viewing extravaganza. They just played Kitchen early in the evening because it’s competing with Shinchan. And when the movie ended, I came back to the hotel. I’m sitting here thinking, all the effort I’ve put in, all the money I’ve spent, it’s worth it. It was worth it. I really enjoyed watching the movie.
The Interval and Runtime
The interval is literally not for a minute, but after showing a fight for 40-50 seconds, they cut the interval. If someday I find someone who cuts the interval at such a point, you guys should understand one thing here: the run time is around 1 hour 40 minutes, that is, 100 minutes, of which the first 40 minutes is spent setting up the entire sequence.
Nonstop Action Mode
Once the action starts, wow, the film doesn’t stop. I’m not joking. From there, right up until the end, you’ll only take your next breath when the entire film is over. It’s just nonstop action after action after action. And the scale kept rising until I was melting in my seat. I got to experience something so out of my body that I was literally shaking.
The Emotional Rush
And this happens only a few times when I see something. I get excited. The visuals, the music, the moments, the build-up, when they’re so deliciously executed. Literally, so much caustic, and I’m telling you, it’s crazy.
Why I Loved It
So, it’s supposed to be caustic. I might just be saying this out of emotion. But, for me, this is perfection above Mocktail. Why? Because its action, its animation, is god-level. Like Demon Slayer, those flashy sword effects. It’s not like that, but whatever I’ve seen, take the lighting, the character animation, the fight sequences—oh, my god, the story is just like this.
Pure Happiness
My heart is filled, brother. I am so happy today. I have felt so happy after watching this movie. What can I say? If I have to complain, I’ll talk about the very end of the movie. While reading the manga, I came across a panel, and my eyes widened. Oh my god, what happened? The movie doesn’t give it enough time. It just happens.
Comparing It to Demon Slayer
I mentioned Demon Slayer at the beginning of this video. And guess what? There’s a shark character for which I’m 99% sure they’ve cast Gentsuk’s voice actor. In Japanese, he and Denji are a match made in heaven. It was a lot of fun, and as for the two movies, I’ll start a war in the comments section. I liked The Chase Man better. Did I mention that at the beginning of the video?
Why I Prefer Chainsaw Man
There are a few reasons for this. First, its runtime is crisper, so much so that some people might find it a bit too short and think it should have been shown. After that, a complaint was made about the “Demon Slayer” movie, that after showing a little, you’re then going into the backstory. Then the second character, then the backstory, then the third character, then their backstory.
“Chainsaw Man” doesn’t do anything. You have to listen and understand everything carefully. They reveal the character’s entire background in every dialogue. So if you missed it, you missed it. They cut to the middle of a fight and showed how poor she was. And what I said about the action, it just keeps increasing. Keeps increasing. Keeps increasing. Right up until the end.
Final Thoughts
I liked it better than “Demon Slayer”. But it’s possible that many of you might like Demon Slayer better because it’s a little simpler and more straightforward, and the action is a little easier to follow. But for me, Chase!’s “Man Rage” movie is perfection. And I definitely do. I’d say take your friends and go see what could possibly be Dungey’s only true love story. Brother, I feel like seeing it again. This movie is so gorgeous. So gorgeous.
